6 March 2008. Sivarathri, with discourse
|
|
We have a long darshan, as Sathya Sai Baba comes into Sai Kulwant Hall and moves through the crowds and onto the veranda. In the background is instrumental music.
Sri V.Srinivasan, All India President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, addresses the gathering. He points out: although ‘Ratri’ or night is usually associated with ignorance, Maha Sivarathri is unique because it is the night of ‘Siva’ or auspiciousness, where the finite individual merges in the infinite Godhead.

Understand The Principle Of Unity
|
The same Atmic Principle is in all of us. God has only one name and that is Brahman. One who understands the principle of Brahman becomes Brahman himself.
Love is in all of us. We cannot live without love.
All the scriptures originated from the primordial Word, Pranava, or Om. God is embodied in sound.
The message of Sivaratri is that Bharat (India) should achieve the objective of unity of the entire country.

March 6-7
The college students sing bhajans on these two days. We see lots of Sathya Sai Baba.
Sai Baba is wheeled through Sai Kulwant Hall, and even outside in order to grant darshan to those outside and those preparing a meal for students. Sai Baba takes the time to talk to many students.
We see the food being prepared and then eaten by the students, who sang all night long.
