14 Oct 1999. Discourse

This discourse was given by Sathya Sai Baba on 14 October 1999. Here, it is titled "Are You Following Me?", although the title now given to it in the Sathya Sai Speaks Series is "Follow Divine Commands". The text can be found here: pdf file

The video was produced in order to give you a devotional experience while listening to a discourse. Before the discourse, we listen to the Suprabhatam and the Gayatri Mantra. After the discourse, we have Arathi and then the Suprabhatam in English.

The wave motion you see in the opening images reminds one of the "Cloud" of the Mysteries. These appear like the waves of rolling forces generated through thought/mind/word propagation, and it represents an esoteric practice that is recognizable to many mystics though it is not common. The video animation method reminds one of the evocational practices as taught in the ancient mysteries. Objectively people might be confused, but subconsciously it tells a story.

The moving symbol you see a couple of times in this video is called the Sri Vatsa. It is known all over the world in many religious formats, but it is best to be reminded that it is the sign of the breastplate of the Kalki Avatar; as described in the Bhâgavata Purâna. The motion through the Sri Vatsa is to show the generation of 10 "whirlpools" as a result of a single sweep. Within this motion 10 worlds spin as a result of the resistance to motion. They form spheres that are colored in the colors of the 4 worlds called the ten sephiroth of the Western Kabala, which unfold into Newtonian color associations that match with the blendings of color addition and subtraction like that used in modern color physics.

The video segments form in the cloud and are to remind one of the work and the history. They focus the attention onto the essentials of life and awaken the memories over the background of the MahaSamadhi.

We hope you enjoy this experience.
