Southern California and Hawai

A play titled "The Boy Jesus" is performed, insterpersed with beautiful Christmas carols.

After the play, the region 8 (USA) Sai Choir from California sings a number of songs.

Swami talks to some of the devotees, and Arathi follows.

Christmas morning: primary school boys present a violin concert, univ. students provide a brass band, and all sing Christmas carols.

Christmas evening: Four speakers talk about their experiences.

Dec. 26 eve: Swami gives His divine discourse, and we see part of it.

Christmas eve

Beautiful piano music accompanies a video of Swami sitting in His chair on the Verandah. Then, the Sai Overseas Children's Choi perform for about 25 minutes, reciting some verses from the Bhagavad Gita and then singing enthusiastically and beautifully. We hear Christmas carols, like "I'm dreaming of a white christmas", "the drummer body", "jingle bells". We also hear "This little light of mine".

Four hundred Croatians sing in front of Swami. After some Vedic chanting, we here beautiful chajans and Croatian music. Aftre the program saris are handed out. A few more songs, and then Swami talks with them. A beautiful program.

82nd Birthday Celebrations, 23 Nov 2007

82nd Birthday celebrations

The celebrations started at 9AM, with parades leading Bhagavan into Sai Kulwant Hall. The Carnatic music duo Malladi Rama Prasad and Malladi Ravikumar performed. Then, five couples, annointed Swami, with Anil Kumar explaining the signifance of he ceremony. In the eveing, the Malladi brothers performed again, followed by Hariharan singing.

Drama: Hridaya Vani

The students of the Sri Sathya Sai University perform a play in the Purnachandra, which sends a clear message to the youth of the day to have faith, devotion, and dedication and to serve the Lord and thus humanity in general. Laced with dance and music, the play carries a message for us all to follow our hearts.

Ladies Day

A parade of vedic chanters and bands lead Swami into Sai Kulwant Hall. We see just a bit of the giving away of 50 cows and 14 calves. Dr. Hymavathi Reddy and Mrs. Sowcar Janaki give short talks. In the evening, celebrated carnatic singer Nithyasree Mahadevan enthralled the audience with her singing. A dazzling musical drama by the primary school children,titled "Sai Leela", based on Swami's life, ended the festivities.

"Krishna Kripa"

The drama, by the Balvikas students of Calicut, eulogizes the love and compassion Krishna had for his childhood friend, Sudhama. It is interspersed with beautiful dancing by the children. At the end, Bhagavan materializes a gold chain for the student who played the role of Sudhana and granted photos to all participants.

US Youth music program

The Sai Youth of the US present a varied and beautiful music program —from Sanskrit bhajans to "Amazing Grace" to Bhagavan's song "Love is My Form". There is also some dancing, after which Bhagavan materializes a necklace and a ring for the two dancers.

Guru Purnima evening

We see a colourful dance-cum-song program by the youth of Latin America —Brazil, Venezuela, and Mexico. The dances are in the type of the Brazilian natives, Venezuelan natives, and the Mexicans. Then, the International Youth Choir sings. Finally, the Mallardi brothers, of carnatic fame, sing again.

Sathya Sai Baba is taken in a procession led by Sathya Gita, the new elephant, caparisoned befitting the occasion, followed by boys holding decorative parasols, bhajan groups, and a group of boys chanting Vedam. Then, the Malladi brothers give a scintillating Carnatic Music presentation. Aarathi ends the video.

The highlight of the afternoon-evening session was a dance drama on Jhule lal, the chosen God of Sindhi community who lived during the 10th century by the Bal Vikas children from the Thane District of Maharashtra.

Ashadi morning, part 2

The play, "Master the Mind, Be a Master Mind", continues. Panels of contestants have to answer questions about the mind, and a great panel of experts judge the answers, e.g. Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanandha, Muthuswami Iyer, and Rabindranath Tagore deliver their verdict and give answers themselves. After the play Swami comes down and walks among the actors.

Ashadi morning, part 1

We see Swami coming into Sai Kulwant Hall. After lighting the lamp and some bhajans, two boys talk about Sai Gita, Swami's elephant, who merged with Swami two months back, and welcome the new elephant. A dance in adoration of Lord Ganesha takes place. Then the State of Mahrashta and Goa starts their annual play. This time, it is "Master the Mind, Be a Master Mind".

Hariharan sings

The evening of 24 July had devotees gathered in Kulwant Hall captivated by an awe-inspiring performance by Padmashree Hariharan of the "Colonial Cousins" fame. Hariharan, well trained in Carnatic and Hindustani music, has had great success in his fusion experiments. Though he started his career as a Ghazal singer, he found a grander following in fusion music with his album in 1996. Since then he is much sought after in the light music scene as well.

Chinese new year evening

Devotees from Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia perform a play, "My Parents, My Treasure", with coloruful dancing. The drama vividly captures the dilemma people face these days: the conflict between profound ancient culture and wisdom on one hand and the modern, material lifestyle on the other.

Chinese new year morning

Sathya Sai Baba was led into Sai Kulwant Hall in a procession and colourful pageantry of lion dancers and men dressed in Chinese regal attire. Swami lit candles. Mr. Billy Fong Goon Poy, organizing chair of the celebrations, addressed the gathering. In the Chinese tradition, tea and cake were offered to Sai Baba. Students then recited vedic mantras and stanzas from the "Di Zi Gui", a code of conduct for children. A choir presentation and bhajans, some in Chinese, end the video.
